DESCRIPTION

Committed to providing the most advanced medical and surgical care in the world, the Division of Otolaryngology provides services and specialized training in a variety of specialties, including otology and neurotology, head and neck surgery, facial and reconstructive surgery, surgical oncology, laryngology, rhinology, and thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.

This position is required to float between 3 clinic locations which are located in Hillcrest and La Jolla.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.

  • RN License issued by the State of California.

  • BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of recent Ambulatory RN experience.

  • Ambulatory Surgery (Any Specialty) experience.

  • Ambulatory telephone triage experience.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSN

  • ENT or Surgery experience.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, and various locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $180,716 - $180,716 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $86.55 - $86.55

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
