Job Title: Safety Officer – Oil & Gas Drilling Operations (Onshore)
Location: Saudi Arabia
Contract: 6-Month Contract (Potential to Extend)
Start Date: Approx. June 2025

Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Officer to support onshore drilling operations and ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance. This role is critical in promoting a strong safety culture, conducting inspections, and supporting operational teams to maintain a safe and compliant worksite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and enforce HSE policies and procedures across drilling operations

  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits

  • Support incident investigations, reporting, and root cause analysis

  • Facilitate safety briefings, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions

  • Assist with the development and review of safety plans, JSAs, and permit-to-work systems

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and company HSE policies

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a safety role within oil & gas drilling operations (onshore preferred)

  • Strong working knowledge of drilling site safety practices and legislation

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage frontline personnel and leadership

  • Experience in incident investigation, hazard identification, and HSE documentation

  • Able to work independently in high-risk, fast-paced environments

Preferred Certifications & Skills:

  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualification

  • HSE certifications such as OPITO, OSHA, or IADC WellSharp

  • Understanding of environmental compliance and emergency response planning

  • Familiarity with safety management systems and digital reporting tools

Contract Details:

  • 6-month initial term, with potential to extend based on performance and operational needs

  • Competitive day rate
