Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service, demonstrating product features, and driving sales through effective upselling and merchandising. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail and sales skills in a dynamic environment, with responsibilities spanning from stock management to cashiering. Bilingual abilities and prior supervisory experience are a plus, but not required.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Operate POS systems accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
• Upsell products and promote ongoing promotions to maximize sales opportunities
• Maintain attractive merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked and organized
• Assist with inventory management, including stocking and merchandising products
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
• Handle phone inquiries professionally, maintaining proper phone etiquette
• Support team members with supervising tasks as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment

Requirements

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or similar store environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
• Basic math skills for handling transactions, retail math for pricing, and inventory counts
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Ability to perform product demos and upselling techniques confidently
• Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail operations is desirable
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
• Supervising experience is advantageous but not mandatory
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends if required
