Manager – Sales Animal Feed (Cattle & Poultry)

Your Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Cattle Feed Sales Manager with proven team handling experience to lead regional sales operations, drive business growth, and expand market share in the cattle feed segment. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in animal feed/agriculture sales, an in-depth understanding of rural markets, and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve business targets for cattle & poultry feed products.
  • Identify new business opportunities, channels, and distribution partners.
  • Conduct market research to understand farmer requirements, competitor activities, and pricing trends.
  • Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Drive product penetration and volume growth in existing and new markets.

2. Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Territory Team Leaders
  • Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and conduct regular reviews and field visits.
  • Train the team on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.

3. Channel & Dealer Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers, and key retailers.
  • Monitor dealer performance, stock levels, and credit limits.
  • Support in onboarding new distributors and expanding channel networks.
  • Plan and execute dealer schemes, loyalty programs, and promotional activities.

4. Farmer Engagement & Marketing

  • Organize farmer meetings, cattle health camps, and awareness programs in coordination with veterinary and marketing teams.
  • Promote brand visibility and trust among rural customers.
  • Collect farmer feedback for continuous product improvement.

5. Reporting & Coordination

  • Maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and competitor analysis.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and finance teams for smooth order execution and payment collection.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and credit control measures.

Below are few other details with regards to the experience & role :

  • Will be handling whole of Karnataka managing the Plant in Tumakuru with 4000 metric tonnes.
  • Will be handling Cattle feed sales.
  • Will be handling a team of 4 to 5 reportees.
  • Will be cordinating with the stores team, marketing & sales team. Generating demand in market & managing distribution channel.
  • Will be developing new market.



Qualifications & Experience:


Education:

  • Masters / Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Animal Husbandry / Veterinary Science / Business Administration (MBA preferred)


Experience:

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Agri input sales/ cattle feed/ poultry feed/animal nutrition or FMCG .
  • At least 4 to 5 years in a team leadership role handling field sales TL.
  • Knowledge on Animal Feed would be an added advantage
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and expanding market reach.
