A Day in the Life of a Scheduling Coordinator at Michel Dental

On any given day at Michel Dental you can expect to encounter the following:

  • Arriving at 7:00 am to be ready to go at 7:15 am for an interactive morning huddle.
  • Working with a driven team of approximately 23 other dental and business professionals including dentists, hygienists, practice administrator and fellow front office team members.
  • Caring for patients who need assistance in addressing their treatment needs for a variety of reasons but not limited to: scheduling and coordinating appointments, insurance coverage, insurance pre-determinations and reviewing pre-treatment estimates.
  • Working in an office that is paperless, digital office utilizing Dentrix software and high-tech equipment.
  • Treating every patient as a unique individual who is part of our dental family.
  • Seeing between 20-80 patients each day.
  • Presenting treatment plans and financial arrangements in an eloquent manner.
  • Following up with large treatment cases and fulfilling specific patient requests.
  • Explaining treatment financing in a guided fashion that best fits the patients’ needs.
  • Ensuring that the doctors schedule is scheduled to align with practice needs and goals.
  • Assisting in all administrative tasks at the front desk including answering phones, and collecting payments
  • Attending to patient responsible collections in a timely manner
  • Working with the front desk team to support completion of all daily administrative tasks.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to obtain patient's current benefits.

· You accomplish tasks and projects in a timely manner that allows you to assist in day-to-day operations.

· You can demonstrate as many administrative tasks as possible i.e., answering phones, collecting payment, etc.

· You are innovative. You tend to try and look at problems from different angles to find other solutions others may not find easily.

· You are hunger and eager to help patients obtain their desired smiles.

· You are emotionally intelligent. You possess and obtain soft skills that are required to be successful to work well with others.

This role is not for you if…

· You are uncomfortable talking about money with patients.

· You have difficulty selling the value and benefit of proper dental care and relating that to an investment amount.

· You prefer to work behind the scenes as opposed to directly with people.

· You treat this position as a job and not a career.

· Have a difficult time working as a team and are only concerned with your job getting completed.

· Are not trustworthy in your work ethic and work performance.​​​​​​​

What Winning Looks Like

· We support you in winning by reviewing metrics related to treatment case acceptance, reappointment rates & treatment scheduling, financial arrangements, and treatment plan follow up weekly and providing any needed support and training to set you up to succeed!

· You are able to help provide financial arrangements and support to patients who have the need for comprehensive dentistry.

· You are the primary liaison for all financial related questions and solutions.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary, PRN

Pay: $19.00 - $27.00 per hour
