Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic School Age Teacher to join our educational team. This role involves creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children in before/after-school and summer programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childhood education, experience working with children, and a strong understanding of developmental milestones. The School Age Teacher will be responsible for managing classroom activities, and fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes growth, learning, and social-emotional development.
Duties
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and social skills among students.
- Incorporate Montessori methods or other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences.
- Support early intervention strategies and collaborate with specialists when necessary to meet individual student needs.
- Engage children in activities that promote literacy education, physical development, and social-emotional skills.
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom events.
- Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, child welfare standards, and safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, classroom management, curriculum development, and other relevant areas.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is essential; preschool or daycare experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development across various subjects including literacy, math, physical education, and special education needs such as early intervention.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other specialized teaching approaches is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues and families.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and developmental levels.
- Experience working with students who have special needs or require individualized support is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a positive learning environment through effective classroom management practices.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; relevant coursework or training will be considered.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
