Job Summary
The Senior Analyst - Production Control role ensures smooth execution of batch processes across multiple environments using scheduling tools like Control-M, UC4 (Automic), and Autosys. This role involves monitoring job performance, resolving failures, supporting automation initiatives, business-critical workflows and provides advanced troubleshooting. The incumbent must collaborate with IT teams, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement. This role is essential for ensuring that batch processes run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the organization’s operations. This role reports into the Manager – IT Production Control. The position requires strong scripting capabilities and familiarity with modern reporting and monitoring tools to deliver actionable insights and maintain operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Schedules, executes, and monitors batch jobs using Control-M, UC4, and Autosys.

Ensures nightly completion of critical batch jobs and meets performance metrics.

Maintains consistency across development, testing, and production environments.

Monitors system health and job performance; generate status and performance reports.

Develops workflows to meet business needs and integrate with applications (e.g., SAP, ERP).

Executes SAP transports and automates tasks using scripting (bash, batch).

Implements changes related to report distribution software.

Provides advanced technical assistance to application and operations teams.

Identifies root causes of failures and implements permanent corrective actions.

Trains users and supports scheduling tools functionalities.

Maintains compliance documentation and supports audits.

Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell, PowerShell, and Ansible.

Participates in disaster recovery exercises and incident/change/problem management.

Generate operational and performance dashboards using Kibana, Power BI, ServiceNow and Elastic.

Manages scheduling tool configurations, user access, and security.

Maintain integrity of production JCL libraries and implement test JCL.

Performs upgrades, patches, and transports of job definitions.

Maintains documentation for schedules, processes, and procedures.

Assumes department responsibilities in the manager’s absence.

Plans for system outages and maintain batch calendars.

Support off-hours scheduling and occasional weekend work.

On-call availability and shift work (starting as early as 5:30 AM (EST) and/or ending around 12:00 pm (EST)) and occasional weekend coverage are required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Prior experience with Autosys, CA Automic (UC4), Control-M, or Stonebranch.

Prior experience working with Unix/AIX/Wintel systems, IBM utilities, and scripting (Shell, Python, PowerShell and Ansible) for automation tasks.

Familiarity with SAP and job scheduling tools (Control-M, UC4, Autosys).

Working knowledge of ServiceNow for ITSM processes.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with FTP/SFTP, encryption, Amazon S3, and cloud technologies.

Knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices.

Certification in Control-M or related technologies and migration experience is a plus.

Proven experience as a Control-M, UC4, Autosys operator or a similar role.

Strong understanding of batch scheduling concepts and job management.

Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, UNIX/Linux) and database management.

Exposure to automation frameworks and DevOps practices.
