The Senior Application Engineering Manager leads a high-performing engineering team within the Adhesive Technologies business unit, supporting top global consumer electronics accounts. The role is responsible for developing next-generation adhesives, films, tapes, and application processes while managing lab operations, CapEx investments, workflow prioritization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This leader cultivates a collaborative, learning-driven culture and ensures alignment with safety, legal requirements, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in adhesives used in consumer electronics, strong people leadership experience, and a track record of driving technical innovation.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor an engineering team supporting major consumer electronics accounts.

Develop innovative adhesives, sealants, and film/tape solutions to meet emerging market needs.

Promote a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous development.

Manage CapEx planning and implementation; drive lab readiness for future technologies.

Oversee engineering labs, workflow assignments, prioritization, and reporting.

Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and industry/customer standards.

Guide technical strategy to support customer projects and competitive positioning.

Apply agile practices to adapt to shifting customer and market needs.

Coordinate complex engineering projects, including cross-functional collaboration.

Utilize CAD, FEA, flow modeling, and lab automation tools to advance capabilities.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (Advanced degree preferred).

10+ years' experience in adhesives, films, tapes, or related materials used in consumer electronics.

5+ years of direct team leadership managing 5+ engineers/scientists.

Proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop technical teams.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage complex projects and shifting priorities using agile methodologies.

Experience with CAD, FEA, flow modeling, and lab automation technologies.
