Senior Architect

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the architectural scope of multiple high-rise and complex building projects from technical design coordination to execution on site. Ensures that all architectural works comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, and design intent, while resolving all technical and coordination issues between architecture, structure, MEP, and finishes. Acts as the key link between the consultant’s design team, the project management team, and site execution teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of architectural works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review IFC drawings and identify discrepancies, clashes, or missing details, providing RFIs to consultants to resolve before execution.
• Coordinate with structural and MEP teams to ensure all architectural elements are fully integrated and there are no conflicts during installation.
• Lead the preparation, review, and approval of architectural shop drawings, ensuring they align with IFC drawings, project specifications, and authority requirements.
• Oversee material submittals for architectural works, ensuring compliance with specifications, aesthetic requirements, and durability standards suitable for Dubai’s climatic conditions.
• Manage site execution of architectural works, including façade systems, partitions, ceilings, flooring, joinery, cladding, and other finishes, ensuring workmanship meets project quality standards.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues immediately to avoid work stoppages or rework.
• Coordinate mock-ups for critical architectural elements, obtain consultant/client approvals, and incorporate feedback into execution.
• Liaise with procurement for selection and timely delivery of architectural materials, considering lead times and project schedule requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, Civil Defense, and other authority requirements for architectural elements, including fire-rated assemblies, accessibility, and façade safety.
• Monitor progress of architectural works on site, identifying risks or delays, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule.
• Guide drafting teams to develop accurate, detailed shop drawings and as-built drawings for all architectural elements.
• Resolve complex design and construction challenges, particularly in high-specification finishes and custom architectural features.
• Conduct detailed snagging for architectural works prior to consultant/client inspections and oversee de-snagging activities.
• Provide technical input during value engineering exercises without compromising design intent or quality.
• Mentor junior architects and draftsmen in technical detailing, coordination skills, and site execution procedures.
• Review and approve subcontractor method statements for architectural works, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and technical requirements.
• Attend coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to resolve open issues and maintain smooth workflow.
• Maintain up-to-date records of architectural documentation, correspondence, and approvals for project closeout and handover.
