Senior Associate Attorney

About the Job

A nationally respected litigation practice is seeking a mid-level to senior Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Practice Group in the Detroit (Southfield) office. This position offers the chance to take on meaningful responsibility from the outset, working alongside experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the General Liability team, you will manage a diverse caseload involving:

• Trucking and commercial transportation liability
• Catastrophic injury and wrongful death
• Premises liability
• PIP
• Dog bite matters
• Business disputes
• Other general liability cases

Key responsibilities include:

• Drafting pleadings, motions, and other substantive filings
• Taking and defending depositions
• Managing written and oral discovery
• Attending hearings, mediations, and pre-trial proceedings
• Developing case strategy and working directly with clients

This position follows a hybrid schedule with a blend of remote and in-office work.

What We’re Looking For

• Active Michigan Bar license
• 3–9 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in general liability defense
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Practical experience handling discovery, motion practice, and depositions
• Ability to independently manage caseloads and deadlines
• A proactive, team-focused approach with a strong sense of ownership

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
