OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

The Sr. Engineer, Automation and Digitalization play a critical role in shaping the organization's automation and digital transformation strategy. This position is responsible for providing expert guidance and leadership on all aspects of automation architecture, digitalization initiatives, and the integration of advanced technologies to drive operational excellence. The Sr. Engineer works closely with business stakeholders, engineers, IT professionals, and cross-functional teams to ensure that automation and digitalization efforts align with organizational goals and deliver measurable business value.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Designing and developing automation solutions and digital platforms that support business requirements and operational efficiency
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand automation needs and develop solutions that align with strategic objectives
• Defining and implementing governance processes to ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of digital systems
• Evaluating and recommending new tools and technologies to enhance automation and digitalization practices
• Leading the design and implementation of integration solutions to enable seamless data and process flow across systems
• Mentoring and coaching team members on best practices in automation, digitalization, and technology adoption
• Participating in cross-functional teams to implement solutions that support business initiatives and improve operational performance
• Monitoring and optimizing the performance, scalability, and reliability of automation systems to ensure high availability and quality
• Collaborating with IT and engineering teams to define standards, metrics, and principles that guide automation and digitalization practices
• Staying current on industry trends and best practices in automation, digital transformation, and technology innovation to drive continuous improvement

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

Minimum Experience:

10+ years of experience in automation, digitalization, or related fields, preferably within mining and metals or industrial sectors.
