The Senior Bartender is responsible for leading the bar operations during shifts, preparing high-quality beverages, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience in a Moroccan-themed environment. This role supports the Bar Manager, trains junior staff, and helps maintain a vibrant, efficient, and culturally inspired bar atmosphere.
Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation & Service
- Prepare and serve all alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including Moroccan specialty drinks, signature cocktails, mocktails, teas, and fresh juices.
- Ensure every drink is presented to high standards, reflecting Moroccan authenticity and restaurant quality.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wines, and Moroccan drinks (e.g., Moroccan mint tea, spiced drinks, infusions).
- Provide recommendations and upsell beverages based on guest preferences.
Bar Operations
- Lead the bar during shifts, ensuring smooth service flow and on-time drink preparation.
- Monitor stock levels, request replenishments, and ensure proper storage and rotation of all bar items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage, fridges, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards at all times.
- Check bar equipment daily and report maintenance issues promptly.
Guest Experience
- Deliver warm, friendly, and professional service aligned with Moroccan hospitality.
- Engage with guests, answer questions, and create a welcoming environment.
- Handle guest feedback professionally, escalating concerns when needed.
Team Leadership & Training
- Guide and support junior bartenders and barbacks.
- Train staff on cocktail preparation, beverage knowledge, and presentation standards.
- Assist the Bar Manager in developing new drinks, themed cocktails, and seasonal beverage menus.
- Help maintain discipline, grooming standards, and professional behavior within the team.
Cash Handling & Reporting
- Ensure correct billing, cash handling, and POS usage.
- Monitor order accuracy and minimize wastage.
- Assist in bar inventory counts and daily consumption reports.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience, preferably in high-end or themed restaurants/bars.
- Strong cocktail-making skills and beverage knowledge.
- Experience in leading or supervising a bar team is an advantage.
- Fluent in English; Arabic or French is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent guest service, communication, and multitasking skills.
