Profile Summary:

Responsible for reviewing credit proposals and overseeing credit relationships for FI clients to ensure they meet internal policies and regulatory rules. Proactively identifies and raises key credit risks and any compliance or documentation issues. Supports sound and well-informed credit decisions.


Job Responsibilities:


Credit Analysis & Due Diligence

  • Conduct in-depth credit assessments for new and existing FI clients
  • Analysis of financial statementsto identify any anomalies, assess industry risks, and evaluate sector dynamics that may impact creditworthiness
  • Evaluate loan requests by collecting and analysing information about customers’ financial standing and repayment capacity and clearly documenting all credit risks and how they will be managed
  • Analyse the financial health and operational aspects of obligors to support credit decisions
  • Ensure timely and insightful evaluation of credit proposals from FI business, confirming all credit approvals comply with regulatory and policy guidelines

Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Mitigation

  • Actively manage and assess the FI portfolio, quickly identifying and raising concerns about any credit issues
  • Determine country risk ratings, review limits for specific countries, and monitor overall exposure by assessing political risks and major economic trends
  • Monitor key credit parameters such as expiry dates, covenants, deferrals, and past dues
  • Review MIS reports on overdue accounts and NPLs to identify issues, proactively raise red flags, and develop strategies to mitigate key risks and prevent further deterioration
  • Monitor covenants and other credit-related matters, track regularization of deferrals, and prepare required reports

Governance, Reporting & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Prepare MIS and presentations for management committees and board meetings, highlighting key risks, trends, and recommendations for risk mitigation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal credit policies, including SBP PRs and the Bank’s Credit Policy / Credit Manual
  • Monitor geopolitical events, sovereign credit risks, and macroeconomic conditions
  • Maintain effective coordination and communication with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of their requirements
  • Stay up to date on credit risk regulations, best practices, and economic trends impacting the risk environment.


Experience and Qualification Requirement:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelors / Masters degree, preferably in a related discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration


Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of accounting and finance principles
  • Acquire familiarity with SBP PRs and the Bank’s Credit Policy / Credit Manual
  • Ability to apply knowledge and experience to actual credit situation and to communicate assessments and opinions clearly
  • Balanced and independent judgement, with the character to assess each credit proposal on its merit
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
