Responsibilities

Manage SQL Server and Azure cloud databases
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
- Monitor system's health and performance.
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
- Provide suggestions for solutions.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
- Provide support for critical production systems within us time-zone/from Monday to Friday.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Managing Backup strategy.
- Tuning T-SQL queries to improve performance.
Requirements
-
At least 6 years of database administration experience in hybrid environments (on-premises data centers and Azure cloud platforms).
- Expert-level, hands-on experience with SQL Server administration, including implementing and supporting SQL Always On and Distributed Availability Groups.
- Experience automating routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Good experience with Linux operating systems and Windows Server administration
- Good knowledge in Kubernetes administration and container orchestration
- Good understanding of networking, storage, and security principles in containerized environments
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO).
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
- Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server and Azure cloud database service.
- Experience with Windows server, including Active Directory.
- Team player.
- Good time-management skills.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills.
- Azure Database Administrator Associate certifications is a plus.
- Azure Data Factory provisioning and administration is a plus.
