Position Title: Senior Design Engineer – Switchgear

Location: Karachi | Full-time

The Senior Design Engineer – Switchgear will be responsible for leading detailed design and engineering activities for MV/LV Switchgear, power distribution systems, and E-House engineering projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and ITPL’s project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop MV/LV Switchgear layouts, SLDs, control schematics, interlocking diagrams, and panel GA drawings.
• Prepare complete engineering documentation for E-House solutions, including electrical room layouts, routing plans, cable schedules, power and control wiring diagrams.
• Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination as per IEC/IEEE standards.
• Review and design AC & DC control circuits, logic diagrams, protection & metering schemes, and communication network interfaces.
• Ensure design compliance with global standards (IEC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI) and ITPL internal quality procedures.
• Evaluate technical specifications for switchgear components, protection relays, breakers, contactors, transformers, and busbar systems.
• Coordinate with production, QA, supply chain, and project teams to support manufacturing of switchgear and E-House assemblies.
• Support testing and inspection activities such as FAT, SAT, and troubleshooting during commissioning stages.
• Review vendor drawings, BOMs, and technical documents, ensuring alignment with project scope.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in design processes, standardization, and engineering templates.

Key Requirements

• Strong technical understanding and hands-on design experience in three-phase power systems, MV/LV Switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
• Proficiency in preparing AC/DC control circuits, schematic diagrams, interlock logic, and panel construction drawings.
• In-depth knowledge of electrical safety codes & international standards (IEC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI).
• Familiarity with protection relays, digital meters, breakers, and communication protocols used in switchgear.
• Working proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks, or Inventor (EPLAN preferred for schematics).
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with ability to develop clear technical documentation.
• Proven time management skills with ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a project-based environment.

Minimum Qualification: B.E (Electrical, Electronics, or related)
Experience: 5–8 Years (Preference: MV/LV Switchgear, E-House, Power Distribution Systems)

Pay: Up to Rs300,000.00 per month
