POSITION TITLE: Senior Devops Engineer
POSITION LOCATION: 213 W Institute Pl, Suite 408, Chicago, IL 60610 [Cook County] (40 hours per week)
SALARY: $127,754.00 to $132,000.00 per year
JOB DESCRIPTION: Create deployment strategies and keep critical infrastructure up and running. Perform infrastructure migrations including database migrations, infrastructure/account cut-overs, DNS/networking configuration changes, etc. Responsible for designing and implementing a load testing system that runs the company’s entire infrastructure to validate large numbers of simultaneous users. Responsible for designing and implementing auto-scaling policies across multiple different ecosystems within our infrastructure to match demand. Responsible for creating financial forecasts for infrastructure costs. Responsible for identifying highest-cost services and suggesting and implementing optimization strategies to minimize cost while maintaining performance. Substantially helping the design of secrets management and application of cyber security best practices across our infrastructure. Design and implement a secure VPN for all employees. Manage communication with cloud resellers/wholesalers. Track cloud spend and validate what’s being billed is what is actually used.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience in job offered, Cloud Architect, Backend Engineer or related. Must have experience with: (1) Multi-cloud AWS & GCP; (2) CI/CD, Cloud/Visualization and expertise in messaging systems; (3) Agile methodologies; (4) Experience with CI/CD pipelines to integrate security measures; (5) Construct CI/CD pipelines using scripting; (6) RUST, Golang, Python for cloud apps to design and develop cloud applications; (7) Git, GitLab, GitHub for version control; and (8) Ability to integrate terraform or any IaC tools for configuration management. Must have a Permanent Employee Registration Card license.
