Want to be part of a progressive farming business where sustainability, productivity and long-term land stewardship actually mean something - not just buzzwords?

At Wilga Farming, we're building resilient, productive mixed farming systems grounded in regenerative principles, continuous improvement and genuine care for the land.

Wilga Farming (Australia) operates on behalf of investors in the Wilga Farming Platform and is proudly managed by Gunn Agri Partners - a leading Australian agricultural asset manager with over 2.7 million acres under management across mixed farming, cattle and natural capital assets.

Across the platform, we manage 33,000+ hectares in NSW and WA. Set on prime mixed-farming country in Northern NSW, the Burmah Aggregation combines productive cropping, quality grazing, and conservation land - offering a dynamic and progressive farming operation focused on sustainable growth and high performance.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced and capable Senior Farm Hand / Operator to play a key role at our Burmah aggregation. This is a hands-on, practical role with responsibility across cropping, livestock and machinery operations.

You'll operate and maintain modern machinery, carry out seasonal fieldwork, support livestock husbandry activities and take pride in the quality and efficiency of your work. You'll also play an important part in mentoring and supporting other team members to build capability and consistency across the crew.

If you enjoy variety, autonomy, and working as part of a professional, safety-focused team, this role will suit you.

What Your Work Will Involve

Your role will span across cropping, livestock and property operations, and no two weeks will look exactly the same. Your duties may include:

  • Operate and maintain large-scale machinery for seeding, spraying, and harvest
  • Support cropping programs and keep accurate records
  • Handle daily livestock care, mustering, and welfare checks
  • Maintain water systems, fencing, and general farm infrastructure
  • Carry out machinery servicing and basic repairs
  • Work safely, support others, and contribute to a positive team culture

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience operating large broadacre machinery
  • Practical livestock handling and husbandry skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Sound judgement, attention to detail and hands-on problem-solving skills
  • A reliable, proactive and safety-first approach

Bonus (not essential): HR licence, ChemCert, First Aid, Ag qualifications or experience in structured farming systems.

What We Offer

  • Permanent full-time role with competitive remuneration package including vehicle use and accommodation.
  • A supportive, professional team culture with plenty of development opportunities
  • Work in a progressive mixed farming business with clear long-term vision
