About this Role

The Senior Fundraising Consultant for Southeast Asia (SEA) is integral to the Global Energy Alliance's initiatives in the region. This role is pivotal in driving fundraising efforts from SEA's array of funders, including foundations, CSR teams, high-net-worth individuals, and more. With dual reporting to the Vice President for Southeast Asia and the Chief of Partnerships and External Relations, the consultant will support the development of SEA-specific engagement strategies, leveraging local networks, cultural contexts, and aligning donor interests with the Alliance's mission. This role demands a profound comprehension of SEA's philanthropic landscape, energy, and climate sectors, with a successful history of fundraising at least $7M annually. The consultant will develop SEA-focused philanthropic strategies, build donor pipelines, manage cross-border engagement, and lead fundraising across energy transition priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support the SEA Regional VP in designing SEA-focused philanthropic strategies
• Develop culturally appropriate engagement strategies aligned with SEA traditions
• Collaborate with global proposal managers to align SEA-specific concepts and proposals
• Maintain a database of SEA and international donors and funding entities
• Analyze shifts in SEA and global philanthropy trends
• Develop a donor pipeline through research and engagement
• Coordinate between global initiatives and SEA opportunities
• Mentor local team members on SEA donor engagement best practices
• Work with program leads to align fundraising narratives with priorities
• Tailor donor engagement materials for energy transitions

Requirements

• Related education in Business, Development Studies, Public Policy, Environment, or Energy
• 10+ years of experience in philanthropy, with at least 5 years in the SEA ecosystem
• Over 8 years in the energy sector with a track record of $7M+ fundraising annually
• Deep understanding of SEA's philanthropic culture, regulatory environment
• Strong relationships with SEA philanthropists and networks
• Native or near-native proficiency in English and a local SEA language
• Willingness to travel extensively within SEA
