Senior I&C Engineer - Wood
Wood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, and we are looking for an experienced Senior I&C Engineer to design, develop and maintain complex instrumentation systems for high profile clients across the energy sector.
Key Objectives
- Creating and implementing advanced instrumentation systems for industrial processes.
- Enhancing system performance and efficiency through automation and control strategies.
- Ensuring all instrumentation adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues to maintain seamless operations.
- Leading instrumentation projects, coordinating with teams, and managing budgets.
- Researching and integrating new technologies to improve system capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Design, model, and analyse I&C engineering requirements on projects, tenders or proposals, following client standards, international codes and project scope.
- Plan and execute instrumentation engineering design for field instrumentation, DCS, SCADA, integrated control system, fire and gas, SIS, and telecommunications systems.
- Prepare basic and detailed design of the instrumentation and controls part of the project.
- Maintain SPI knowledge - indices, I/O lists, data sheets and loop drawings.
- Provide offshore design experience, especially RLE FPSO, as mandatory.
- Prepare data sheets, cause and effect diagrams, logic verifications, and input to inter departmental interfaces.
- Ensure design complies with industry standards and the quality management system.
- Coordinate with project teams and clients.
- Assist in preparing project proposals and pre qualification documents for instrumentation engineering design.
- Identify issues impeding project progress and report to project managers and discipline heads.
- Stay updated on new products, technologies, and international standards for engineering design practices.
- Identify new methodologies for higher productivity.
- Prepare construction work packs and support TBE, VDR and follow up engineering activities.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least 8 to 14 years of experience with instrumentation in an oil & gas environment.
- Offshore experience is mandatory.
- Experience in SPI - specification and loop wiring module.
- Full competence in all international codes and standards.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Enthusiastic, conscientious, and keen to learn with a can do attitude.
