• Technical & Design Ownership
• Develop, Evaluate and implement plastic molding/material plans and related proposals including Process, Mold and Resin changes
• Evaluate material for cost, performance and sustainability
• Develop, review and implement CAD model and drawings for mold designs and plastic parts
• Perform DFM/DFA reviews with suppliers and internal manufacturing teams
• Coordinate Engineering change requests and maintain design documentations
• Lead prototype and builds, analyze test data and close technical issues
• Supplier & Sourcing Coordination
• Collaborate with supplier/sourcing to identify alternate resin suppliers and molding vendors
• Participate in supplier reviews, material/mold trials and cost optimization
• Track supplier deliverables – tooling readiness, sample timing and quality approvals.
• Verification & Validation
• Drive sample First Article Inspection (FAI) and drawing/mold updates as necessary
• Compliance and related material testing
• Preparation of test plans, procedure, results and reports

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of plastics, molding process (injection, extrusion, blow molding)
• Working knowledge of molding raw materials and resins
• CAD Proficiency (e.g. Creo)
• PLM handling proficiency (e.g. Windchill)
• Basic sourcing and cost analysis understanding
• Excellent cross functional collaboration, communication & experience
• Analytical skills for testing, validation and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Strong documentation discipline and attention to details
• Knowledge on biocompatibility of materials used to build Healthcare devices
• Knowledge on Healthcare device compliance and regulatory requirements
