Senior Merchant

Pacifics Trade Links is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Merchant with strong expertise in shirts, pants, and overall apparel merchandising. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading product development, sourcing, costing, vendor management, and end-to-end production coordination. This role requires strong industry knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple categories efficiently Key Responsibilities

• Lead product development for shirts, pants, and clothing categories from concept to final production
• Oversee sampling, fit approvals, fabric selection, trims, and accessories
• Conduct accurate costing, negotiate prices, and prepare cost sheets
• Identify, onboard, and manage vendors while ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance
• Maintain and monitor T&A (Time & Action Calendar) for all orders
• Coordinate closely with production, QA, and buying teams for seamless execution
• Evaluate vendor performance and ensure adherence to quality standards
• Track production status, approvals, shipment schedules, and dispatches
• Conduct market research, study trends, fabrics, and competitive offerings
• Prepare weekly MIS reports, production updates, and costing summaries for management
• Ensure effective communication with suppliers and internal teams to avoid delays
• Required Skills & Experience
• Strong product knowledge in shirts, pants, wovens, casual wear, and formal apparel
• Minimum 3–5 years experience in apparel merchandising (senior level preferred)
• Excellent vendor communication & cost negotiation skills
• Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction, fits, and quality standards
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table) and email communication
• Ability to manage multiple orders, timelines, and vendor relationships
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and time management
• Ability to lead processes independently and take ownership of categories
• Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Apparel Merchandising, Fashion Technology, Textile Engineering, or related field
• Prior experience in a similar role is mandatory
