WORK HOURS: Aligned to US time zones (as required by client)

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Monitoring & Tools Architect to lead the design, assessment, migration, and optimization of enterprise-grade monitoring, observability, and automation platforms. This role is critical as the client undergoes a major business separation initiative—requiring a full evaluation of the current monitoring ecosystem and strategic planning for migration, replacement, or modernization.

Tools include ThousandEyes, LiveActionNX, SolarWinds, CMDB/Inventory platforms, automation frameworks such as Ansible, and integrations with network management platforms (e.g., Cisco ACI). The architect will provide expert guidance, define the future-state tooling architecture, and ensure operational readiness during the separation.

Key ResponsibilitiesTooling Assessment & Architecture

  • Assess the client’s current monitoring, observability, and automation toolset and determine the optimal strategy for migration or replacement.
  • Define future-state monitoring and operations architecture aligned with scalability, reliability, and business separation requirements.
  • Conduct gap analysis and provide modernization recommendations.

Monitoring & Operations Platform Expertise

  • Lead architecture and deployment strategies for:
  • ThousandEyes
  • LiveActionNX / LiveNX
  • SolarWinds (NPM, NCM, SAM, etc.)
  • CMDB / Inventory systems (ServiceNow or equivalent)
  • Establish dashboards, alerting standards, performance baselines, and unified monitoring integrations.

Automation & Integration

  • Architect automation workflows using Ansible, Python, or similar tools.
  • Integrate monitoring and telemetry platforms with network management solutions such as Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, firewalls, and cloud networking.
  • Develop and maintain automated workflows for configuration management and incident response.

Migration & Business Separation

  • Lead workstreams supporting the client’s major business separation initiative.
  • Define migration plans, timelines, dependency mappings, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation and validate operational readiness in the separated environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with network engineering, security, operations, and enterprise architecture teams.
  • Prepare architecture documentation, decision papers, standards, and governance materials.
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on monitoring and automation best practices.

QualificationsRequired

  • 8–12+ years of experience in monitoring, observability, automation, and network architecture roles.
  • Strong expertise with:
  • ThousandEyes
  • LiveActionNX / LiveNX
  • SolarWinds suite
  • CMDB/Inventory platforms
  • Hands-on automation experience with Ansible, Python, or similar.
  • Experience integrating tooling ecosystems with network management platforms (e.g., Cisco ACI).
  • Proven ability to assess enterprise environments and develop tooling migration or replacement strategies.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, and operational workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with technical and leadership teams.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting M&A, divestiture, or business separation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, CMDB governance, and event correlation concepts.
  • Relevant certifications (Cisco CCNP/CCIE, SolarWinds SCP, etc.) are advantageous.

Costing Options & Delivery Model (US vs India/PH)

To support the client’s flexibility in resource planning, this position can be delivered from multiple locations with corresponding cost structures:

United States Delivery

  • Senior-level architects based in the US typically fall within the $85–95 per hour range (median).
  • Best suited for roles requiring:
  • Direct coordination with US-based stakeholders
  • Real-time decision-making
  • Specialized architectural leadership for business separation initiatives

India / Philippines Delivery

  • Senior architects based in India or the Philippines provide a cost-effective alternative, with rates at significantly lower cost bands while maintaining strong technical capability.
  • Suitable for:
  • Architecture support
  • Tooling implementation
  • Automation development
  • Monitoring platform configuration and integration
  • Teams can operate aligned to US time zones as required.

A blended model (US Lead Architect + India/PH Engineering Support) may also be used to optimize both cost and depth of coverage.
