JOB TITLE: Senior Monitoring & Tools Architect
LOCATIONS: US, India, Philippines (Remote/Hybrid depending on region)

Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Monitoring & Tools Architect to lead the design, assessment, migration, and optimization of enterprise-grade monitoring, observability, and automation platforms. This role is critical as the client undergoes a major business separation initiative—requiring a full evaluation of the current monitoring ecosystem and strategic planning for migration, replacement, or modernization.
Tools include ThousandEyes, LiveActionNX, SolarWinds, CMDB/Inventory platforms, automation frameworks such as Ansible, and integrations with network management platforms (e.g., Cisco ACI). The architect will provide expert guidance, define the future-state tooling architecture, and ensure operational readiness during the separation.
Key ResponsibilitiesTooling Assessment & Architecture
- Assess the client’s current monitoring, observability, and automation toolset and determine the optimal strategy for migration or replacement.
- Define future-state monitoring and operations architecture aligned with scalability, reliability, and business separation requirements.
- Conduct gap analysis and provide modernization recommendations.
Monitoring & Operations Platform Expertise
- Lead architecture and deployment strategies for:
- ThousandEyes
- LiveActionNX / LiveNX
- SolarWinds (NPM, NCM, SAM, etc.)
- CMDB / Inventory systems (ServiceNow or equivalent)
- Establish dashboards, alerting standards, performance baselines, and unified monitoring integrations.
Automation & Integration
- Architect automation workflows using Ansible, Python, or similar tools.
- Integrate monitoring and telemetry platforms with network management solutions such as Cisco ACI, SD-WAN, firewalls, and cloud networking.
- Develop and maintain automated workflows for configuration management and incident response.
Migration & Business Separation
- Lead workstreams supporting the client’s major business separation initiative.
- Define migration plans, timelines, dependency mappings, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the implementation and validate operational readiness in the separated environment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with network engineering, security, operations, and enterprise architecture teams.
- Prepare architecture documentation, decision papers, standards, and governance materials.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on monitoring and automation best practices.
QualificationsRequired
- 8–12+ years of experience in monitoring, observability, automation, and network architecture roles.
- Strong expertise with:
- ThousandEyes
- LiveActionNX / LiveNX
- SolarWinds suite
- CMDB/Inventory platforms
- Hands-on automation experience with Ansible, Python, or similar.
- Experience integrating tooling ecosystems with network management platforms (e.g., Cisco ACI).
- Proven ability to assess enterprise environments and develop tooling migration or replacement strategies.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, and operational workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with technical and leadership teams.
Preferred
- Experience supporting M&A, divestiture, or business separation initiatives.
- Knowledge of ITIL, CMDB governance, and event correlation concepts.
- Relevant certifications (Cisco CCNP/CCIE, SolarWinds SCP, etc.) are advantageous.
Costing Options & Delivery Model (US vs India/PH)
To support the client’s flexibility in resource planning, this position can be delivered from multiple locations with corresponding cost structures:
United States Delivery
- Senior-level architects based in the US typically fall within the $85–95 per hour range (median).
- Best suited for roles requiring:
- Direct coordination with US-based stakeholders
- Real-time decision-making
- Specialized architectural leadership for business separation initiatives
India / Philippines Delivery
- Senior architects based in India or the Philippines provide a cost-effective alternative, with rates at significantly lower cost bands while maintaining strong technical capability.

- Architecture support
- Tooling implementation
- Automation development
- Monitoring platform configuration and integration
- Teams can operate aligned to US time zones as required.
A blended model (US Lead Architect + India/PH Engineering Support) may also be used to optimize both cost and depth of coverage.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $85.00 - $95.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
