Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Server Engineer to join Allegion’s IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance server environments that support Allegion’s global operations. This role requires a deep understanding of server architecture, cloud integrations, security protocols, and automation to ensure our infrastructure remains resilient, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Server Engineer to join Allegion’s IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance server environments that support Allegion’s global operations. This role requires a deep understanding of server architecture, cloud integrations, security protocols, and automation to ensure our infrastructure remains resilient, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade server infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline server provisioning, configuration, and management.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies are in place and tested regularly.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security best practices, including patch management, access controls, and threat mitigation.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime.
- Lead efforts to migrate legacy systems to modern, scalable platforms, including cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Document infrastructure architecture, procedures, and standards to support ongoing maintenance and audits.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across IT teams to support enterprise initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in server engineering, systems administration, or related roles.
- Strong expertise in Windows Server, Linux/Unix environments, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
- Deep understanding of network protocols, security, and compliance standards relevant to enterprise environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong Skills of Automation especially with python or bash.
- Strong Background of Linux servers and Windows
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Windows Server certifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CISSP or CISA security certifications
