Specific Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessment in accordance with the specialty areas of practice in SOCs.
- Plan and implement care according to the assessed needs at respective SOCs.
- Monitor, modify plan of care and evaluate patients' progress according to speciality requirements.
- Perform investigations and treatment as prescribed and planned within specialty areas.
- Recognise changes in patient's clinical condition, initiate intervention and elevate to the doctors in a timely manner.
- Administer, monitor and evaluate medication/ therapy as prescribed in SOCs.
- Manage controlled drugs with strict adherence to hospital guidelines and policies.
- Coordinate and follow up on continuity of care and treatment plans including transition of care where applicable within / across specialties or inter-hospital safely, timely and seamlessly.
- Conduct patient and/or family education and caregiver training according to the clinical indications, treatment plan and health promotion as appropriate to the specialty practice.
- Facilitate / perform procedures within the specialty practice within the scope of practice and credentialed and privileged competencies.
- Provide safe and appropriate pre-, peri- and post-operative/ procedure care and monitor clinical condition adequately in accordance with specialty practice.
- Guide and direct proper equipment management within speciality areas in accordance with hospital guidelines and policies.
- Collaborate with the operation team to maintain adequate stock for clinical utilisation, and optimal equipment function within specialised areas.
- Perform any other additional duties as assigned by reporting officer.
