In this exciting role as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of materials we procure at our Medtronic Tempe Campus (MTC) . This specific role will support the procurement of electronic components, indirect materials, and services needed for the design and manufacture of our Cardiac Rhythm Management and Neuro Implantable Medical Devices.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Ensure suppliers deliver high-quality parts, materials, and services.
Lead supplier continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, Lean, or DMAIC problem-solving methodologies.
Drive quality rigor in New Product Development decisions, focusing on capability and reliability with suppliers to ensure new products and components are manufactured and qualified in accordance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with New Product Development teams to design and implement the Product Acceptance Strategy, Supplier-Owned Quality deployment, and Control Plans for new products.
Define Receiving Inspection requirements as needed, including associated test method validation for internal Medtronic test methods.
Manage Supplier/Part setup and maintenance across multiple applications.
Coordinate the addition of new suppliers to the Approved Supplier List (ASL).
Conduct timely investigations into supplier quality issues and lead activities related to Material Review Board (MRB), nonconformances, CAPAs, and inspections.
Manage supplier change notices and assess their impact on MTC manufacturing operations, material inventory, acceptance procedures, and part number configurations.
Support the execution of supplier audits.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering , Science or technical field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering and/or Quality , OR Master's Degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.
N ice to Have
Professional certifications such as C er tified Quality Engineer (CQE) , Lead Auditor, Six Sigma Green/Black B elt, or P roject Man agement Professional (PMP) .
Experience and working knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO standards for Medical Devices.
Supplier Controls process knowledge and e xperience.
Experience in semiconductor and advanced electronic manufacturing , assembly and test .
Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills.
Demonstrated communication skills, both verbal and written.
Computer skills in MS Office and ERP systems .
