About the role

Metawibe is hiring a Senior WordPress Developer & Designer who can own projects end-to-end—from discovery and UI/UX through to high-performance, secure builds. You’ll lead complex WordPress (custom theme/plugin) work, elevate our design standards, and mentor teammates.

What you’ll do

• Lead full website builds, migrations, and redesigns using modern WordPress best practices.
• Design clean, conversion-focused interfaces (Figma/Adobe XD) and translate them into pixel-perfect themes.
• Build custom Gutenberg blocks, ACF-based components, and bespoke plugins when needed.
• Implement WooCommerce stores, payment gateways, and checkout optimizations.
• Optimize performance (Core Web Vitals, caching/CDN, image strategy, query tuning).
• Ensure accessibility (WCAG 2.1), cross-browser/device QA, and SEO-friendly markup.
• Integrate APIs/REST, CRM/marketing tools, analytics, and 3rd-party services.
• Harden security, manage backups/rollback strategies, and handle DNS/hosting/cPanel tasks.
• Review code (Git), mentor juniors, and improve our internal standards and workflows.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and ship on time.

What you’ll need

• 3+ years of professional WordPress development (agency or product experience preferred).
• Deep experience with Gutenberg, custom themes/plugins, ACF, and WooCommerce.
• Proven design chops with Figma/Adobe XD and a strong eye for typography, layout, and UX.
• Solid grasp of performance, security, and SEO fundamentals.
• Git-based workflows; comfort with CLI, build tools, and ticketing (Jira/ClickUp/etc.).
• Bonus: experience with headless (WP REST/GraphQL), Tailwind, React, Cloudflare.
