Service & Fitting Engineer – Electrical: Key Responsibilities1. Installation & Commissioning

• Install, assemble, and wire electrical equipment, panels, motors, control systems, and machinery.
• Perform commissioning of new electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.
• Verify alignment, connections, earthing, and circuit integrity before energizing systems.

2. Service, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Conduct routine maintenance and preventive checks on electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnose faults using electrical testing tools (multimeter, megger, clamp meter, etc.).
• Repair or replace defective components like switches, relays, contactors, drives, cables, and sensors.
• Respond to breakdowns and minimize equipment downtime.

3. Electrical Safety & Compliance

• Follow electrical safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
• Ensure proper insulation, cable routing, and load balancing.
• Maintain lockout–tagout (LOTO) procedures during service work.

4. Wiring & Fitting Work

• Execute wiring and fitting of electrical panels, distribution boards, control panels, and field devices.
• Fit and connect motors, pumps, lighting systems, power outlets, and protection devices.
• Ensure clean, secure, and professional electrical installations.

5. Customer Support & Site Handling

• Attend customer sites to provide service, repairs, and installation support.
• Communicate technical issues and solutions clearly to customers.
• Provide demonstrations, operation guidance, and after-installation support.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain service logs, installation reports, checklists, and warranty records.
• Report job completion, material usage, and work status on time.
• Provide feedback on recurring issues for continuous improvement.

7. Coordination

• Coordinate with the service manager, production team, and inventory/dispatch for required materials.
• Assist in testing equipment before dispatch.
• Support other departments during major installation or commissioning tasks.

8. Tools & Equipment Management

• Properly maintain testing instruments, tools, and PPE.
• Ensure calibration of measuring devices when required.
• Track spare parts and request materials proactively.
