The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and implementing safety standards on the construction site to ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with UAE labour laws, company policies, and project HSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on site.
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Prepare and maintain safety reports, checklists, incident logs, and inspection records.
- Provide toolbox talks, safety training, and safety inductions for workers and site staff.
- Monitor use of PPE and ensure all workers follow safety guidelines.
- Report unsafe acts, near misses, and incidents to the HSE Manager or Project Manager.
- Coordinate with site engineer and supervisors for corrective actions.
- Ensure fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, safety signs, and emergency procedures are in place.
- Assist in preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), and emergency plans.
- Stop work immediately if unsafe conditions are found and ensure swift rectification.
- Liaise with third-party inspectors and authorities when required.
- Participate in safety meetings and audits.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1–3 years experience as a Safety Officer in construction.
- NEBOSH IGC / OSHA / Safety Diploma (mandatory or preferred depending on your requirement).
- Good knowledge of UAE HSE standards and construction safety rules.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage site workers and enforce safety measures.
- Physically fit and able to work on active construction sites.
