Background
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a Workday Application Developer to assist with the implementation and ongoing support of Workday HCM and Financial System.

Role and Responsibilities
Development and Configuration
  • Design, build, test, and deploy Workday integrations using EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, and Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs)
  • Configure and maintain Workday business processes, calculated fields, custom validations, and condition rules
  • Develop and maintain custom Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, configuration, or integration issues
  • Support deployment activities and ensure seamless migration of Workday configurations
Integration Management
  • Create and maintain integrations between Workday and third-party systems (HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, etc.)
  • Monitor scheduled integrations, identify failures, and resolve data inconsistencies
  • Document integration design, architecture, configuration, and data flows
  • Optimize existing integrations for improved performance, stability, and reliability
Reporting and Analytics
  • Develop and maintain Workday reports and dashboards to support business, HR, Finance, and compliance needs
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into Workday solutions
  • Automate report scheduling and distribution for end users
  • Ensure accuracy, security, and usability of Workday reporting assets
Support and Collaboration
  • Provide technical support to agency and end users across HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT
  • Maintain system documentation including design specifications, workflows, and configuration guides
  • Participate in change control, configuration reviews, and release management processes
  • Gather and document business requirements for enhancements, break/fix, and new change requests
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align Workday functionality with business needs.

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related field
  • Experience in Workday HCM or Financials configuration and integration development
  • Hands-on experience with Workday EIB, Core Connectors, Studio, and web service APIs (REST/SOAP)
  • Strong understanding of Workday business processes, security, tenant configuration, and calculated fields
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and support end users effectively
  • Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills

Preferred Qualification
  • Workday certification(s) in Integrations, HCM, or Financials
  • Experience in Workday Report Writer, Prism Analytics, or dashboards
  • Experience supporting HR, Payroll, Benefits, or Finance systems in a government or enterprise environment
  • Knowledge of Workday Cloud Platform (WCP)
  • Familiarity with XML, XSLT, JSON, or other data transformation technologies
  • Experience with API integrations and middleware platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a structured change control environment
