Job Title: TGT / PGT – Social Studies

Role Summary

The Social Studies Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging lessons in History, Civics, Geography, and related subjects, ensuring strong conceptual understanding and academic excellence. The teacher supports holistic student development through effective teaching strategies, assessments, and classroom management.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Social Studies lessons as per curriculum guidelines.
• Teach History, Civics, Geography (and Political Science/Economics for PGT).
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and structured learning materials.
• Conduct assessments, evaluate student performance, and share feedback.
• Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive learning environment.
• Support students in projects, exhibitions, and academic competitions.
• Coordinate with grade coordinators and subject HOD for academic planning.
• Attend PTMs, training programs, and staff meetings regularly.

Qualifications TGT/PGT – Social Studies

• Bachelor’s degree with B.Ed (Social Studies).
• Strong subject knowledge of History, Civics & Geography.
• 2–4 years of teaching experience preferred.

PGT – Social Studies

• Master’s degree in History/Political Science/Geography/Economics + B.Ed.
• 2+ years of experience teaching senior classes (Grades 11–12).

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to engage students with interactive and activity-based learning.
• Strong classroom management and student handling skills.
• Proficiency in lesson planning and academic documentation.
• Tech-savvy with ability to use digital teaching tools.

Work Environment

• Teaching Grades as per TGT/PGT allocation.
• Involvement in school events, assemblies, and academic initiatives.
