What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to join our team and help build the next generation of internal tools critical for empowering teams to innovate efficiently. You'll contribute to web-based internal applications supporting areas such as access management, time tracking, kiosks, mobile app, and team management. Using ReactJS and cutting-edge web technologies, you'll build scalable, user-friendly interfaces that integrate with backend systems and AI features. In this collaborative, high-ownership environment, expect a mix of greenfield projects, enhancements, and opportunities to optimize performance for global teams, with a focus on first principles thinking to drive impact on efficiency, security, and user experience.

What You'll Do-
Design, code, debug, and own frontend features from concept to release for Tesla's internal web applications, ensuring seamless integration with backend services and APIs

Build secure, intuitive, fast, and pixel-perfect web interfaces using ReactJS focusing on responsive design and high-performance user experiences for internal stakeholders

Quickly take on new concepts ranging from data visualization dashboards to workflow automation for employee support and operations (such as badging systems and time tracking tools), applying your knowledge to enhance Tesla's internal efficiency

Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and backend teams to form data contracts (e.g., via RESTful APIs) for pragmatic implementation of scalable features

Own a portion of the front-end codebase, care about its overall quality and performance, write documentation, and review code contributed by team members

Obsess over keeping processes, code, and tooling as safe, fast, and beautiful as our tools, and elevate other teams to our high standards to foster an enjoyable work experience while delivering value to internal users

Use first principles thinking to continually optimize frontend processes and practices, for the purpose of providing better internal experiences faster and supporting Tesla's sustainable energy mission
What You'll Bring-
Proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript, ES5/6, HTML, CSS and ReactJS framework

Strong understanding of component-based development, familiarity with React

2+ years of experience building applications with ReactJS and other modern languages

Proficiency with software engineering best practices including writing production quality code, agile development, api design, version control, CI/CD (docker, kubernetes, jenkins)

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent or related work experience

Experience with React Native and C# is a plus
