Essential Duties and Responsibilities

We are searching for Sourcing lead who possess the operational and leadership skills to operate effectively in a matrix environment and have confidence in driving aggressive growth plans. The person should have a consultative and collaborative style, proven track record / achievement. This role is responsible for leading a team of Souring for Power transmission Metal related spend, managing overall Cost & commodity related activities, defining strategies for assigned categories, Supplier relationship management, ensure development progress & driving cost reduction opportunities. This role is responsible for developing & qualifying new components, processes and suppliers, supporting issues with current production, outsourcing, increasing capacity, and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance. Make all necessary coordination between departments to ensure flawless launches with suppliers.

This role will also drive cost improvement by coordinating with all stakeholders and suppliers.

The responsibilities of the role are to develop & qualify new components, processes and suppliers, supporting issues with current production, outsourcing, increasing capacity, and auditing suppliers to ensure process conformance. Make all necessary coordination between departments to ensure flawless launches with suppliers.

The assigned territories include Power Transmission businesses in India. The specific responsibilities will fall into Four primary areas:

Maximum 3 pointers per accountability

Accountability #1: Customer (Internal / External Stakeholders)

• Responsible for all matters related to cost of supply for assigned categories.
• Establish and implement strategies and lead procurement activities (sourcing events, negotiations, data analysis, projects, contract lifecycle management, supplier development and selection, data management, etc.) to optimize costs.
• Responsible for Supplier relationship management and engagement,
• New supplier addition through Global NSAP and approval with SQA,
• Review & Coordinate with Stakeholders for all Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for child Parts & its progress
• Follow-up for development timeline (Release of drawing/Get quote/regular visit at vendor/meet development timeline) and ensure development as aligned to customer milestone.

Accountability #2: Process / Performance

• Detailed knowledge of all PPAP documentation. Preparation and review PPAP documentation with vendors and co-ordinate for PPAP clearance with QA for new parts.
• Knowledge of development of Receiving Gauges/Bending dies/leak testing adaptors/Tagging fixture, Part Layout inspection, CNC programming, tooling, insert etc.
• Development of child parts (Casting/Machining/Forging/tubular parts/Plastic/bearings/ Sheet metals etc).

Accountability #3: Cost Improvements

• Cost saving initiatives across all business segments (PT) align to regional targets. Achieving major cost reduction targets through resourcing, localization, and process improvements.
• Work with stakeholders to generate ideas and ensure smooth execution.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• The incumbent reports to the incumbent reports to Sourcing Leader, India and support him in all day-to-day operations to achieve the business objectives of the company.
