End date: June 2026 (Possible extension)
Total hours: 30 - 40 hours per week (will include 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Required License/Certification: MIld/Mod.
Duties
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Deliver engaging lessons across various subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and life skills, utilizing diverse teaching methodologies including Montessori and learning technology.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral therapists, and other specialists to support student progress.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing to monitor student development and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Incorporate early intervention techniques and behavioral health strategies to support children with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Utilize effective communication skills to work closely with students, parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and conduct regular meetings to review goals and strategies.
- Implement classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and social-emotional development.
- Engage in lesson planning that integrates child welfare principles, early childhood education standards, and preschool or daycare best practices.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable.
- Experience working with students with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, hearing impairments, or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy, literacy education, and behavior management strategies.
- Familiarity with curriculum development tailored for special education needs.
- Experience utilizing learning technology tools to enhance instruction.
- Background in working with children from diverse backgrounds including toddlers through elementary age groups.
- Demonstrated ability to develop individualized lesson plans aligned with IEP goals.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to working with children requiring special attention or childcare services. Pay: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour
