Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique abilities and goals, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles across subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
  • Utilize a variety of learning technologies and adaptive tools to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques, creating a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, behavioral health specialists, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive support services like speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and early intervention strategies.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instruction.
  • Provide specialized instruction for children with hearing impairments (deaf education), autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods, or early childhood education to refine teaching practices.
  • Support students’ social-emotional growth by fostering communication skills and promoting inclusive classroom activities.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate care plans.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Childhood Development, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials as required by your region.
  • Demonstrated classroom experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, behavior management strategies, and learning technology tools.
  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or with speech therapy needs is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with early intervention programs, preschool settings, or toddler care is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, families, and specialists.
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners using innovative curriculum development techniques.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
