Responsibilities
The main purpose of the Senior Contracts Administrator - 1’s job is to execute contractual tasks, validate the contractual merits of claims and variations, Reviews and controls invoices and associated correspondence submitted as per guidelines set by the Company
- Conduct affairs with the highest standards of respect, integrity, accountability, agility, quality, safety and corporate governance
- Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics policy and adopting company values
- Adopt and utilize systems and ERP in the function
- Prepare contracts' status reports for Project Manager and Contracts Manager
- Review and draft contractual correspondences from / to Subcontractors / Suppliers in coordination with the Contracts Manager and the Project Manager
- Review and provide inputs to draft contractual correspondences from and to Client / Engineer in coordination with the Contracts Manager and the Project Manager
- Validate the contractual merits of claims and variations
- Administer the Subcontractors / Suppliers' performance relative to contract requirements
- Validate contractual deductions / retentions against the Subcontractors' invoices and coordinate with Subcontractors to amend invoices containing contractual comments and corrections
- Launch the Subcontractor / Supplier Claim Management Procedures, and update the Claim log to indicate closure of the Subcontractor / Supplier claims and/or incorporation to the Main Contract as may be applicable
- Analyze Main Contract provisions, gather and organize documents and report updates to Contracts Manager
- Participate in negotiation of changes, modifications, and claims with Client/Engineer, Subcontractors and Suppliers
- Work on closure of Main Contract / Subcontracts / Supply agreements in a satisfactory manner as per department's procedures
- Provide contractual guidance to the Commercial team
- Review and control invoices and associated correspondence submitted by Subcontractors / Suppliers in coordination with Commercial team
- Validate, record and monitor claims and variations relating to Main Contract, Subcontract and/or Supply Agreements
- Provide support for the professional development of direct reports
- As needed and following management approval, act as a Contracts Manager and provide active support to the Project Manager
- Assist the Contracts Manager in other contractual tasks and assignments as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Bachelor in Engineering or in Law
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Contracts Administration
- Familiarity with KSA Contract Law, Government Tenders and Procurement Law and standard contracts
- Advanced understanding of statutory provisions, industry practices, legal terms and conditions to draft tenders/agreements and to interpret and execute contracts.
- Working knowledge of end closing procedures to manage downstream and upstream payments
- Knowledge of FIDIC and other International Forms of Contract and their application
- Excellent numerical Skills
- Proficient in MS Office Suites.
- Experience in the Middle East is a strong plus
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
- Highly responsible and reliable with exceptional attention of detail.
- Highly skilled in team management and able to work cohesively as part of the wider organization
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects with a focus on results.
- Strong ability in analyzing and risk management.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge in contract administration.
