Your Role

The Advanced Analytics team who is responsible for managing AI at Stellarus. The Senior Manager will report to the Director of Advanced Analytics. In this role you will lead strategic initiatives to enhance enterprise analytics capabilities through automation, AI-driven solutions, and advanced data platforms. This role ensures scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that support organizational goals.. Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Provides day-to-day oversight of a team of Automation and Tools managers and Engineers.

  • Works with other Automation and Tools Managers to help build the Automation strategies across the organization.

  • Works with other Sr Managers in IT and Business on common goals.

  • Partners with IT and Business leaders to define future Tools needs based upon IT and Business initiatives.

  • Creates and coordinates training for the IT organization on Tools.

  • Lead the design and implementation of automation strategies across the organization, leveraging Azure Cognitive Services for AI-powered workflows and Databricks.

  • Partner with IT and business leaders to define future tools needs based on organizational initiatives, including integration of cognitive APIs and predictive modeling platforms

  • Create and coordinate training for the IT organization on new tools and platforms, including Azure Cognitive Services and Databricks.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration within the team.


Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a college degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10-year prior relevant experience, including 4 years of management experience.
  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, and tactics within an area.

  • Requires advanced knowledge and skills including technical or functional expertise, business acumen, financial analysis skills, risk management, delegation skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

  • Requires In-depth knowledge of Blue Shield of California’s mission, vision and strategy and healthcare industry environment.

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud architecture, automation frameworks, and integration of cognitive APIs

  • Strong programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD concepts

  • Significant experience managing and optimizing Databricks environments for data engineering, analytics, and machine learning workloads

Two Ways of Working:

  • Hybrid (Default): Work from a business unit-approved office at least two (2) times per month (for roles below Director-level) or once per week (for Director-level roles and above). Exceptions:

o Member-facing and approved out-of-state roles remain remote.

o Employees living more than 50 miles from their assigned offices are expected to work with their managers on a plan for periodic office visits.

o For employees with medical conditions that may impact their ability to work in-office, we are committed to engaging in an interactive process and providing reasonable accommodations to ensure their work environment is conducive to their success and well-being.

  • On-Site: Work from a business unit-approved office an average of four (4) or more days a week.

Physical Requirements:

Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork - Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of work day.
