Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP)
Location: UAE
Sector: MEP Contracting

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 to 10 years of experience in MEP contracting, specifically within the UAE market, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost management on MEP projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for MEP projects.
  • Ensure accurate measurement and valuation of MEP works, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Review tender documents, assist with the preparation of bids, and ensure compliance with client specifications and contractual terms.
  • Monitor and report on project financials, identifying any discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Handle the procurement process, including cost negotiations, contracts, and subcontractor management.
  • Manage change orders and variations, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
  • Perform risk analysis, cost planning, and financial forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Advise project teams on cost-effective solutions, value engineering, and strategies to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues related to cost, time, and resources.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, including cost reports, valuations, and final accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in MEP contracting within the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems and their associated costs.
  • Proven experience in managing MEP projects with a strong understanding of contract law, procurement, and cost control.
  • Preferably work experience with MEP Contractor.
  • In-depth knowledge of UAE construction industry standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, MICE) is preferred but not required.
