Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Attorney is responsible for providing routine legal services in support of daily operations of assigned business unit(s) under direction of Managing Counsel, Counsel and the AVP of Denial Escalation and Legal Resolution. Responsibilities may include legal research, drafting and negotiation, as well as analysis of outcomes and operational results. The attorney is responsible to dispute payers in overturning inappropriate denials and resolving underpayments with payers for providers assigned in a timely manner. If not successful, an option to route the matter to arbitration or litigation may be an option. Support staff is available to assist the attorney in their payer disputes to be able to resolve claims timely.

What you will do in this role:

• Legal research and analysis of regulations, documents and policies
• Review and negotiate effective resolution of assigned matters
• Assist in development of policies and guidance
• Work with legal and business team members to support accurate and timely documentation of status on assigned matters

What qualifications you will need:

• JD required.
• Minimum 3 years legal experience. Relevant business experience may substitute legal experience requirement with Supervisor approval.
• License to practice law in good standing.
