The OT Nurse / Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality perioperative nursing care, assisting surgeons during procedures, maintaining aseptic standards, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgery. The role may also involve general nursing duties depending on shift allocation.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Pre-operative Responsibilities

• Prepare OT for procedures (equipment, instruments, sterilisation, consumables).
• Verify patient identity, consent, allergies, and pre-operative checklist.
• Assist anesthetist in patient preparation and positioning.
• Ensure aseptic environment is maintained.

B. Intra-operative Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon as a scrub nurse or circulating nurse.
• Handle instruments, sutures, and surgical supplies correctly.
• Maintain count of instruments, sponges, and needles.
• Monitor patient vitals and support anesthetist when required.
• Document procedure details accurately.

C. Post-operative Responsibilities

• Transfer patient safely to recovery area/ward.
• Monitor vital signs and assist in immediate post-operative care.
• Ensure proper waste disposal & infection control practices.
• Clean and prepare OT for the next case.

D. General Nursing Duties (If assigned to ward/ICU)

• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Maintain nursing notes and patient records.
• Assist doctors during rounds and procedures.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Support emergency care (BLS/ACLS preferred).

3. Required Qualifications

• ANM / GNM / BSc Nursing from a recognized institute.
• Maharashtra Nursing Council registration (valid & active).
• OT experience preferred but freshers can be trained.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of OT procedures, instruments, and infection control.
• Strong observation and patient care skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly.
• Basic computer skills for documentation.

5. Work Schedule

• Rotational shifts / On-call duty as required.
• Must be available for emergency surgeries.

6. Salary

• Based on qualification, experience, and hospital norms.

7. Additional Requirements

• Vaccination status (Hepatitis B preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹6,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
