Duties
- Dispense prescriptions accurately while verifying dosage, interactions, and contraindications using advanced pharmacy software systems.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy plans, considering medical history, physiology knowledge, and current health status.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services such as medication counseling, immunizations, pain management strategies, and medication administration guidance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust treatment plans based on medical management principles and patient needs.
- Prepare compounded medications with aseptic technique when required for specialized treatments or pediatric patients.
- Manage inventory effectively by monitoring stock levels, ensuring proper storage conditions for medications including IV infusions, and overseeing medication procurement processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and facilitate seamless patient care coordination.
- Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols related to HIPAA compliance, infection control practices, and pharmacy regulations in acute care environments.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in daily operations while fostering a team-oriented atmosphere focused on delivering high-quality patient service.
