Staff Pharmacist

Duties

• Dispense prescriptions accurately while verifying dosage, interactions, and contraindications using advanced pharmacy software systems.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy plans, considering medical history, physiology knowledge, and current health status.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services such as medication counseling, immunizations, pain management strategies, and medication administration guidance.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust treatment plans based on medical management principles and patient needs.
• Prepare compounded medications with aseptic technique when required for specialized treatments or pediatric patients.
• Manage inventory effectively by monitoring stock levels, ensuring proper storage conditions for medications including IV infusions, and overseeing medication procurement processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and facilitate seamless patient care coordination.
• Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols related to HIPAA compliance, infection control practices, and pharmacy regulations in acute care environments.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians in daily operations while fostering a team-oriented atmosphere focused on delivering high-quality patient service.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
