Job Overview:
We are seeking a Gas Station Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will ensure exceptional customer service, maintain smooth store functionality, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the business. This role requires strong leadership abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Front-End Operations
- Greet customers, address inquiries, and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Oversee cash register operations and ensure accurate cash handling procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store and forecourt environment
- Manage returns, exchanges, and customer concerns professionally
Operational Management
- Supervise, train, and support staff to meet performance and service standards
- Create work schedules and manage staffing levels for peak and off-peak hours
- Monitor inventory levels, perform stock checks, and place orders as needed
- Receive and handle deliveries, ensuring products are stocked, counted, and verified
- Track fuel levels, place fuel orders, and coordinate with vendors for timely deliveries
- Ensure all equipment, pumps, and systems are functioning properly; arrange maintenance when needed
Sales & Business Growth
- Promote special sales and store offers to increase revenue
- Coach staff on effective upselling techniques and product knowledge
- Analyze sales data and implement strategies to grow store profitability
- Conduct product demonstrations and introduce new items to enhance customer engagement
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and state/federal guidelines
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree a plus
- Previous management experience strongly preferred (2+ years)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English; bilingual ability is a plus
- Familiarity with cash registers, retail math, and inventory management systems
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and enforce cash-handling policies
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage shifting priorities
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
