Job description: Structural Engineer

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise daily structural steel and architectural works as per project requirements.

Coordinate and monitor all structural steelwork–related administrative and site activities.

Review contractor schedules, method statements, and risk assessments for pre-construction planning.

Ensure contractor’s work is detailed, compliant, and safely executed.

Manage contract correspondence and submittals related to structural steel.
-
Assign and supervise welding and steel personnel daily.
-
Maintain full oversight of structural steel construction to ensure quality and compliance.
-
Support the project team in contractor issues, including claims.
-
Monitor and report on contractor progress, manpower, equipment, and materials.
-
Attend progress and technical meetings; identify issues and recommend solutions.

Review daily reports and oversee day-to-day site activities.

Coordinate work sequences and schedules with contractor supervisors.

Maintain organized filing of inspection reports and related correspondence.
-
Schedule site staff to prevent delays and report non-compliance using QA procedures.

Work with the Safety Engineer to monitor safety arrangements and address concerns.

Review material submittals, drawings, method statements, and as-built documents promptly.

Oversee tracking and filing of all quality records per the Quality Management System.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Must have a relevant Engineering degree

Min 5 Years of relevant experience on structural steel construction projects

Previous experience working on construction projects in the Middle East
-
Portfolio of built work which demonstrates technical capabilities and showing excellent site management skills.
