As an SME, you will ensure high academic quality and consistency across our tutoring and educational offerings. You will oversee tutor onboarding, content validation, quality assurance, curriculum innovation, and cross-functional coordination — all aimed at delivering a superior learning experience to students.
What You’ll Do
- Tutor Evaluation & Onboarding:
- Conduct subject-knowledge interviews and assess conceptual clarity, teaching skills, and communication.
- Evaluate demo teaching sessions and provide structured feedback before onboarding tutors.
- Develop and maintain standardized evaluation rubrics and assessment frameworks.
- Academic Quality Assurance:
- Review and validate lesson plans, worksheets, assessments, and learning materials.
- Ensure curriculum aligns with internal standards, learning outcomes, and grade-level expectations.
- Periodically audit tutoring sessions and suggest improvements.
- Tutor Development & Training:
- Design and deliver training sessions and induction modules for new tutors.
- Facilitate ongoing professional development via refresher courses, workshops, and peer-learning sessions.
- Coach tutors on effective classroom management, student engagement, and structured lesson delivery.
- Academic Support & Student Success:
- Provide academic guidance to tutors and support personalized learning plans for students.
- Analyze student performance and recommend remediation strategies when needed.
- Participate in student-review meetings to track progress and outcomes.
- Curriculum & Content Innovation:
- Identify curriculum gaps and create new courses or programs to enhance academic offerings.
- Collaborate with content/product teams to build engaging digital learning materials.
- Introduce modern pedagogical tools, methodologies, and structured learning paths.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Training, Quality Control, Academic Operations, Content, and Support teams.
- Communicate academic updates, syllabus changes, and policy modifications to tutors.
- Contribute to strategic plans for subject expansion, curriculum improvements, and new academic initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track key tutor performance metrics: session quality, attendance, student feedback, academic outcomes.
- Prepare audit reports, improvement plans, and training recommendations.
- Maintain academic documentation — SOPs, guidelines, manuals, and quality logs.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Strong subject-matter expertise (relevant academic domain)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Experience in curriculum design, quality assurance, tutoring or training
- Ability to evaluate teaching quality and give constructive feedback
- Organization and documentation skills — comfortable maintaining SOPs and reports
- Collaborative mindset — able to work across multiple teams
Preferred:
- Prior experience in e-learning, online tutoring, or academic content development
- Experience mentoring/training educators or tutors
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and modern teaching methodologies
