Summary: This position is responsible for the safety and productivity of all production employees staffed on designated shift. Additionally, the Superintendent is responsible for ensuring that production scheduled for completion is executed in a timely manner, safely and within all quality parameters. The Superintendent will monitor the leads in all departments during the shift to insure they are following the plans created by the Focus Factory managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to designated shift.

Consult with Focus Factory Managers to create Second shift task list.

Ensure all safety and processing procedures.

Enable effective communications between management and operators.

Sets up, instructs, and inspects the work of the crew.

Train new employees and coach existing employees.

Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with OSHA regulations, 6S protocol, and good management practices.

Report all incidents (injuries, poor performance, employee conflicts, etc.)

As a member of management, a supervisor’s main job is more concerned with orchestrating and controlling work rather than performing it directly.

Suggest and implement cost-saving ideas.

Give instructions and/or orders to subordinates.

Superintendent is held responsible for the work and actions of other employees in his department.

A Superintendent will usually have the authority to make purchases within specified limits.

A Superintendent is given the power to approve work hours and other payroll issues.

Perform other duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Attend quarterly Management Review meetings

Manage the College and Career (Ignite) interns.

Support at the Resolute Plant (Plant once Per week and check in with Supervisor/Leads and be available by phone while on site everyday.
Qualifications:-
Must have above average mechanical aptitude and have the ability to diagnose and repair equipment.

Ability to navigate through intermediate computer programs (Excel, Word, E-mail etc) is desired.

Ability to solve practical problems and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Must possess acceptable people skills necessary to effectively lead, direct, and teach hourly employees.

Ability to understand and carryout both verbal and written directions.

Ability to lead a crew without having higher level supervision present.
Education and Experience:-
At least two years of related work experience.

A high school level education or equivalent (some college preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in written form.

Majority of time is spent walking, climbing, and lifting.

Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
-
Occasionally, position requires lifting of up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to see and hear.
