Mission
Responsible for identifying and resolving all warranty issues for Scotsman, with the primary objective of driving down warranty spending and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position also holds primary responsibility for identifying warranty cost reduction opportunities for Kold Draft. A critical aspect of this role is leading negotiations for warranty supplier recovery for Scotsman. This position requires a keen ability to balance customer satisfaction with fiscal responsibility in all aspects of warranty cost management. This role directly contributes to our profitability and brand reputation.
Principle Activities
a. Perform comprehensive analysis of warranty data for both Scotsman and Kold Draft, identifying trends, improving product quality, and significantly reducing warranty costs.
b. Prioritize warranty projects for Scotsman and Kold Draft using available data from Warranty Costs, Customer Feedback, and Manufacturing Rejects.
c. Lead problem-solving efforts for Scotsman Ice and provide individual guidance as needed and appointed by Quality Improvement Teams. Manage cross-functional teams to implement product quality improvements that reduce warranty spending and drive customer satisfaction.
a. Lead the supplier recovery process for negotiated settlements from a warranty perspective for Scotsman, providing analytical support to Kold Draft for their recovery process. Manage the supplier recovery process to ensure timely receipt of payments for field warranty returns.
b. Effectively resolve supplier quality issues, managing the warranty parts return process, utilizing warranty parts return data to identify root causes and implement precise corrective actions.
c. Work proactively with major functional suppliers to reduce incoming defects as they relate to outgoing warranty spending, driving overall supplier quality improvement.
Financial/Risk Control
A bachelor’s degree in a technical, finance or business related area is required.
A minimum of eight-plus years of experience in data analysis and proven problem-solving capability. Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with durable goods, is highly preferred.
This role demands strong leadership skills and the ability to guide cross-functional teams effectively.
It requires above-average data and product analytical ability, with a strong aptitude for understanding complex data sets and translating them into actionable insights. Demonstrated manufacturing process and product experience are essential.
Proficiency in database and PC applications is a must, with a strong preference for experience in modern analytics platforms (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI) and the ability to leverage data for predictive insights.
Excellent communication skills are paramount for effective collaboration, negotiation with suppliers, and presenting findings to various stakeholders, including executive leadership. The ability to manage and motivate teams in potentially hybrid or remote work settings is also crucial.
