Supply Chain Intern – Design Ready Controls
Kickstart your supply chain career in a real manufacturing environment where your work actually moves product. As a Supply Chain Intern at Design Ready Controls, you’ll help make sure the right materials show up at the right time to keep production running smoothly.
What You’ll Do:
- Create and manage purchase orders for production materials.
- Analyze inventory, safety stock, and reorder points to support material availability.
- Update PO confirmations and due dates to flag late deliveries and support supplier performance reviews.
- Review excess material reports and defer incoming purchases when needed.
- Communicate known material shortages to production and warehouse teams using scheduling and tracking reports.
- Support relationships with distributors and manufacturers to ensure accurate pricing, quality, and service.
- Help promote customer focus and reliable delivery across the organization.
- Complete 1–2 capstone projects that create a lasting impact on the team and business.
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or university (supply chain, operations, business, or related field preferred).
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with numbers, percentages, and basic algebra/geometry.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and visual instructions and solve problems in structured situations.
- Interest in how materials, production, quality, and cost work together in manufacturing.
- Clear, professional communication skills.
- Familiarity with Windows-based ERP/MRP systems (M1 a plus, not required).
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
