About the Role

Seeking a highly driven Supply Chain Manager – Stamping to support our fast-paced manufacturing environment. In this role, you will lead supply chain strategy, supplier performance, and material readiness for stamping components used in vehicle production.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier partners to ensure uninterrupted supply and world-class cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Strategy & Planning

Develop and execute end-to-end supply chain strategies for stamping commodities (e.g., body-in-white, closures, chassis stamping parts).

Drive long-term capacity planning with suppliers to support production ramp and new program launches.

Analyze cost structures, negotiate commercial terms, and implement cost-reduction initiatives.

Supplier Management

Evaluate, select, and onboard stamping suppliers based on capability, capacity, quality, and cost.

Manage supplier KPIs including OTD (On-Time Delivery), quality performance, and responsiveness.

Conduct quarterly business reviews to enforce performance improvements and supply risk mitigation.

Resolve capacity, tooling, logistics, and quality escalations with suppliers proactively.

Operational Execution

Ensure material availability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production requirements.

Partner with production control and manufacturing to resolve material shortages or disruptions.

Lead cross-functional teams during new product introduction (NPI) to ensure supplier readiness.

Oversee sourcing, purchasing, contract management, and global logistics for stamping commodities.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans, including alternate sourcing and redundancy.

Improve procurement processes through automation, analytics, and supply chain best practices.

Drive cost efficiencies while maintaining compliance with Tesla sustainability and ESG goals.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.

7+ years of supply chain, procurement, or operations experience, preferably in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.

Strong stamping, tooling, die design, or metal forming knowledge is highly preferred.

Technical & Professional Skills

Proven experience managing complex global suppliers and high-volume commodities.

Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier performance management skills.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.

Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making abilities (Excel, SQL, ERP/MRP systems).

Experience in NPI, PPAP, APQP, or similar manufacturing quality processes.

Soft Skills

Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Ability to manage ambiguity and solve complex supply chain challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or MBA.
