A Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is a strategic HR role focused on finding, attracting, and hiring the right people to strengthen an organization. They manage the entire recruitment cycle, working closely with hiring managers and recruiters to find ideal candidates and ensure a positive candidate experience. Their goal is to help grow the talent in a company by finding and nurturing suitable people to contribute to a company's future success, with a focus on long-term HR needs and building talent pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Job Description Preparation: Write comprehensive and effective job descriptions that accurately outline requirements and qualifications, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
  • Candidate Sourcing and Screening: Source potential candidates through various channels such as job boards, social platforms, professional networks, and referrals. Screen applicants to ensure they meet company requirements, potentially using applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Candidate Recommendation: Select and recommend ideal candidates to relevant departments for interviews.
  • Interview Organization: Perform administrative tasks related to organizing interviews, including scheduling and guiding candidates through the hiring process, while adhering to discrimination laws.
  • Offer Management: Assist hiring managers in preparing and presenting formal job offers, ensuring accuracy in salary and benefits information.
  • Onboarding Support: Prepare paperwork for new employees and help them transition into their roles, communicating company expectations.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with hiring managers and HR to develop a comprehensive talent acquisition plan, considering future hiring needs, industry trends, and the overall talent pipeline.
  • Employer Branding: Promote the company's brand through recruitment initiatives and events to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Relationship Building: Form close relationships with hiring managers to ensure clear expectations for candidates and interviewers.
  • Compliance: Ensure the recruitment process complies with local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track and improve funnel metrics (e.g., time to hire, cost per hire, quality of hire) and provide regular hiring updates and metrics to leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback to inform improvements in the hiring process and stay updated with industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Two to three years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods.
  • Proficiency with social media, CV databases, and professional networks, including LinkedIn Talent Solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to devise and implement sourcing strategies.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources management or a similar field is preferred.
  • Professional credentials, such as HR Certification Institute, are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and time management in a high-volume environment.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Problem-solving and adaptability in changing labor markets.
