Full-time (1.0 FTE), 7-hour day, 10 month, school calendar position
- Design, implement and assess the effectiveness of curriculum for students Heavy Equipment program, featuring rigorous, engaging classroom instruction, and hands-on skills that will prepare students to be college and career ready in the Heavy Equipment Industry
- Possess knowledge and experience operating heavy equipment along with heavy duty truck and diesel repair in order to provide effective instruction, strategies, and skills to 11th & 12 grade students in a CTE program
- Work collaboratively with the Heavy Equipment co-teacher, and with Integrated Math and English Language Arts instructors, to create dynamic, hands-on lessons within the Heavy Equipment field that align with NY State Next Generation standards in Math and ELA, as well as the Heavy Equipment industry
- Maintain program excellence and prioritize appropriate safety protocols
- Prepare students for the nationally accredited certification exams in Heavy Equipment, specifically NOCTI Heavy Equipment & NCCER Performance, Level 1
- Implement 504 Plans and IEPs for students with diverse learning needs
- Seek professional development opportunities to stay current with changes and developments in NY State Learning standards and the Heavy Equipment industry
- Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of all students

Job Qualifications
Valid NYS Certification in Heavy Equipment
- Extensive experience with heavy equipment is required
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and willingness to work out-of-doors
- CDL Class B license, preferred
