About the Role

The Telecom Tendering Engineer will provide technical expertise during the bid phase, preparing proposals, responding to RFPs/RFQs, and designing telecom solutions for enterprise clients. The role ensures solutions meet customer needs while remaining competitive, profitable, and technically feasible through close collaboration with sales, customers, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze customer requirements in tenders, RFPs, and RFQs.
• Lead technical responses, ensuring compliance with tender specifications.
• Prepare proposals, presentations, BoM, solution specs, and architecture designs.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to align solutions with business goals.
• Engage with customers to gather requirements and provide technical consultancy.
• Recommend telecom solutions, alternatives, and act as SME for technologies/services.
• Design scalable and reliable end-to-end solutions (network, cloud, data, security, managed services).
• Work with finance/sales teams to prepare accurate cost models and competitive pricing.
• Lead bid strategy sessions, identifying key requirements, risks, and opportunities.
• Ensure timely, high-quality proposal submissions aligned with client objectives.
• Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure legal/regulatory compliance.
• Support sales in negotiations, present technical solutions, and mentor junior staff.
• Address customer clarifications and adjust proposals post-submission when required.
• Facilitate smooth handover from pre-sales/tendering to implementation teams.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (master’s is a plus).

Required Skills

•Strong knowledge of telecom technologies (MPLS-TP, IP-MPLS, DWDM, OTN, SDH, PDH, IP Telephony, RFTS, DC Systems).

•Proven expertise in preparing/responding to tenders, RFPs, RFQs, and technical proposals.

•Experience in network design, architecture, and cost estimation for large-scale deployments.

Familiarity with standards (IEEE, ITU, ETSI) and telecom best practices.

•Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

•Proficiency in MS Office and proposal preparation tools.

Strong customer focus, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
